A First for BCDF… In its Life for a Child Project

Oliveanna, a type 1 diabetic (insulin dependent) for several years was able to visit an Endocrinologist for the first time courtesy Bovell Cancer Diabetes Foundation. The Foundation organized the visit, covered the expenses for her trip, as well as provided accommodation and moral support. BCDF also provided a glucose monitoring system and accompanying set of test strips (which will be ongoing). Oliveanna is being monitored and educated by BCDF. Next, Oliveanna has to keep her appointment with the Opthalmologist and a follow-up with the Endocrinologist.
