Happy New Year

by BCDF

The Board of Directors of the Bovell Cancer Diabetes Foundation greets our members, volunteers, and supporters at the end of 2020, one of the most un- precedented years in our history for the entire world. We were forced to post- pone most of our annual face-to-face events including our Flagship Fundraiser, our school children poster competition, our video monologue contest, among others.

Despite the problems posed by the pandemic, we were determined to continue our work as outlined in our mission. This year, with very little intake of financial support, we were able to reset and present some of our projects virtually, including:

• Our first Virtual Tea Party (Fundraiser)
• A Virtual version of our 12th Diabetes in the Limelight Jamboree
• Celebration of World Diabetes Day with a Week of activities via radio
• Our Virtual Cancer Workshop
• Virtual Children and Teen Hangout (Weekly April to December)
• Quarterly Electronic Diabetes Discourse Newsletter
• Formation of WhatsApp Support Groups among our supporters
• Continuation of education on Facebook, Twitter, and our website

For this, we are very thankful. We continue to monitor the local, regional, and global situation to ensure a safe and successful return to our face-to-face activi- ties. We wish all our members, volunteers, supporters, friends, and followers across the world a very happy, safe and successful 2021 and look forward to continuing working with you to achieve our mission and vision.
